BIOGRAPHY

Anthony Chalifoux has the ability to not only assist clients with their day-to-day legal questions but also guide them through all phases of complex litigation when necessary. He is dedicated to early dispute resolution, however, when a trial becomes inevitable, he is able to skillfully and effectively advocate for his clients in court. To date, Anthony has prevailed in every single matter where he has served as trial counsel.

In his diverse practice, Anthony’s work ranges from handling transactional matters such as reviewing contracts and filing trademark applications to defending and handling a variety of lawsuits from inception to verdict in all areas of intellectual property law, business law, construction law, and public contracting. He has expanded his practice to include clients in the craft beer and legal cannabis industries, where he also advises clients on entity formation, regulatory compliance, and lease negotiations.

Anthony’s clients appreciate his attentive and empathetic approach as well as his ability to assist with multiple business needs. His experience in both transactional and litigation matters in particular industries benefits clients in myriad ways. This is exemplified through his ability to both file a trademark application and litigate an infringement claim on behalf of a client, or his ability to draft bid documents for a public works project and also help resolve a bidding irregularity or protest.

After earning his law degree from the University of San Diego School of Law, Anthony began his legal career with Balestreri, Potocki & Holmes in 2009, starting as a Law Clerk prior to being promoted to Associate and then Senior Attorney before being elevated to Member. Anthony is a Massachusetts native who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Boston College and also spent time studying law internationally in both London, England and Florence, Italy.

His community involvement includes mentoring law students at the University of San Diego School of Law, and coaching (and participating in) two softball leagues. Anthony is very involved in the business and legal communities, and is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the Building Industry Association of San Diego, Claims and Litigation Alliance, Defense Research Institute, the San Diego County Bar Association, San Diego Defense Lawyers, and the San Diego Inn of Court.  In addition to softball, Anthony golfs and enjoys exploring the local craft beer industry in his spare time.
